We are always on the lookout for high quality blog posts and essays from scholars and practitioners at all stages of their careers, including independent scholars.
You can pitch us at democracy@uia.no
We aim to acknowledge all pitches and submissions within five working days.
You can read our About page, highlighting the scope and principles of our mission.
Contributions should be between 1000 and 2500 words. You should avoid using footnotes for sources or any other purposes. Instead, you should mention main authors and works explicitly in the texts and/or use hyperlinks to acknowledge sources as appropriate.
Contributors should also provide a brief bio (two lines or so) with their submissions.
Contributions are considered for acceptance on the understanding that they have neither been published nor are currently being considered for publication elsewhere. Contributors must inform the editors if the work has been made public in another form or language.
Published contributions are released under a Creative  Commons CC BY-NC-SA 2.0 licence and, if republished elsewhere afterwards, should include our publication name (“Democracy In Action”) and the original link.
The editors reserve the right to make editorial revisions, but will not make major changes without the author’s approval. All contributions will be reviewed by the editorial team, with several members providing in-depth feedback to the authors. The editorial team can send contributions to external readers where appropriate.
